Welcome Home Grant

The Welcome Home Grant offered by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, established through their Affordable Housing Program (AHP), to help assist with homeownership. Grants are limited up to $25,000.00 for homebuyers who are honorably discharged veterans, active duty military personnel, reservists, or surviving spouses of service personnel and $20,000.00 for all other homebuyers. The funds can be used toward the down payment and closing cost on the purchase of primary residence.  Applicants are not required to be a first-time homebuyer.

Welcome Home funds will be available for reservation beginning on March 1, 2024,

and will remain available until all funds have been reserved.

Funds are available on a “first-come, first-serve” basis.

 

General Information:

  • Funds can only be reserved for a specific homebuyer and for a specific The borrower must have entered into a purchase contract for the home prior to requesting the funds.

Basic Eligibility Requirements for Welcome Home:

  • A borrower’s current annual household income cannot exceed 80 percent of Mortgage Revenue Bond (MRB) income limits established by the Ohio Finance Agency. These limits are set differently by County and household size.

  • A borrower must contribute at least $500.00 of his or her own funds.

        Note:  $300.00 may be received as a gift.

  • A first-time homebuyer must complete a homebuyer’s course. This course can be completed either at an agency or online.
